Who is David Rosman?
David Rosman is an award winning columnist, author, editor and speaker. He has been recognized by the Missouri Press Association for his opinion columns, has won awards for his writings from political organizations and received recognition for editing a political campaign website.
Originally from Long Island, New York, David received his Bachelor of Science in Administration from St. Louis University and his Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Northern Colorado. He taught communications, business communications, insurance, finance, statistics and management at various colleges and universities in Denver, Colorado and Columbia, Missouri, where he now resides.
David is an avid golfer and was a PGA Captain of Marshals at the International Golf Tournament at Castle Pines, Colorado. His father took him flying in a real Piper Cub when he was 10-years old. He soloed his first airplane at age 16, had his private pilot’s license at 17 but could not drive in the New York City and the suburbs until he was 18 with driver’s education.
David’s professional life started in the insurance industry where he served as an underwriter and manager for two aviation specialty agencies. When the second agency was sold, David went to graduate school and earned his Master’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in oral and business communication.
His calling to write started with a letter to the editor of the Rocky Mountain News concerning a front page story and David’s dissatisfaction with the paper’s editorial board for showing a picture of a Denver Bronco making a touchdown in a preseason football game instead of a picture of officials signing a nuclear arms agreement that happened that same weekend. His letters were regularly published by the Rocky Mountain News and the Denver Post.
After moving to Columbia, Missouri, David continued to write letters to the editors to the Columbia Missourian and Columbia Daily Tribune. By 2006, he had gained a reputation at the Missourian for the quality of his submissions and research.
That year he met the Missourian’s Opinion Editor, Jake Sherlock. They agreed that David would write a weekly (now bi-weekly) opinion column concerning local, state and federal politics. It is estimated that he has written over 900 columns since.
David has worked with over 100 clients writing articles for newspapers, magazines and newsletters. He has also edited resumes, websites, grant and business proposals, and a science fiction novel.
